Good People
New year. So we can start with new year's resolutions. To lose weight, to save money, to stop smoking, to live more healthily, to read more, to spend less time online etc.
But sometimes I wonder if we really need new year just to change something in our lives? If someone really has such intentions, he/she can do it at any time and shouldn't wait for this one day, which teleports you to the next year. I know that a lot are saying - new year, new me. But shouldn't we say it after our birthday? I mean, I think it would be more logical. An still, how many of us are fulfilling these New Year's resolutions ? Exactly...
Many people dare to say that it is much easier to starts at the beginning of the new year. But like... really? Unfortunately I have to disappoint you, if you like to eat lot and not really healthy, a new date won't change it, only the power of will ;) And as I wrote before, if someone really wants to change something in his life, every moment is good, and waiting for the new year is actually only another excuse.
But as I was thinking, maybe people need some change for the new year to feel that this is a new year. Why don't we just become better. A better person? It's pretty rarely to hear that someone's resolution is: to be a better man. It is very easy and doesn't require a lot of effort and yet you can feel better after seeing a smile on the other's face. Sometimes give a bigger tip, Pay for someone(e.g.: for someone behind in drive-thru), tell a stranger a compliment, smile at someone. Some people will think: weirdo! But there will be also those who will appreciate it and their day might become at least a little better... just because of you. Let us stop be sulky, eyes fixed on the ground or even worse, on the phone. Let's be good. Let's not lose our humor. Surround ourselves with positive energy and give it to the others.
Maybe it's a little naive talk. And I know a lot of you might think; it won't make the whole world better. But maybe we can start with making our own world better place for us and for people we deal with.
